Modern Shelf Clock Plan Free Project Plan

This
unusual clock has no hands. In their place are thin round discs with
a 5/16-inch-diameter walunut dot to point out the hour and minute.
If nothing else, it is different.
Instructions
Step 1
Study the plans carefully.
Note: There are three
cutting steps in the body, part number 1. Be sure
to cut them in the order suggested.
Step 2
Cut all of the pieces to overall size; then lightly sand all over.
If you want to add the optional stripes in part number 2, glue up
material to suit and and to 1/4 inch thick.
Step 3
Cut the overall shape of the body, part number 1. Sand all over. Using
a 1/4-inch-wide router bit with a ball-bearing follower, make the
1/4- inch-wide dado (first cut) on the
inside surface 3/8
of an inch in from the front edge.
Step 4
Using a 1/8-inch-radius router bit with a ball-bearing follower make
the
second cut around the inside, front edge. Using the same
bit, make the third cut around the outside, front edge.
Step 5
Cut to length
after routing steps 1,2, and 3.
Step 6
Cut and fit the face, part number 2, into the 1/4-inch-wide slot in
the body, part number 1. Glue in place.
Step 7
Add the bottom, part number 3, in place.
Step 8
Sand all over and finish to suit.
Step 9
Add the movement.
Step 10
Fit the hour disc, part number 5. It should have a tight fit, that
it will not slip.
Step 11
Fit the minute disc, part number 6. It, too, should fit tightly a
not slip.
