Here
is great puzzle. Everyone will say it is absolutely impossible to
do! The problem is to balance all 10 nails on top of the middle
nail. The balanced nails cannot touch anything and must all be balanced
above the head of the center nail.

Step 1
Cut the three wood blocks, parts number 1 and 2, to size
and sand all over.

Carefully glue the three wood blocks together as shown.
Step

Using a router and a 3/16 inch radius cove cutter with a a ball-bearing follower, make a cut along the top edge.

Carefully locate the eleven holes using the given
dimensions in the top view.
Step

Drill the ten outer holes so that an 8 penny common
nail will fit loosely. Drill the center hole so that an
8 penny common nail will fit tightly.

Finish all over with a high-gloss finish. Sand all over
and add a coat of paste wax.

Add the center nail, part number 3, making it a tight fit.
Add the 4 felt pads, parts number 4. clean out the ten outer holes
so the 10 nails can be inserted and removed easily. You're ready
to test your puzzle.
