Pelican Pull Toy Free Project Plan

Instructions

PelicanStep 1
Study how the pelican is put together. It is important that you understand how it works before starting.

Step 2
Cut all wood to overall size.

Step 3
Transfer all shapes and details to the wood.

Step 4
Carefully make the notch and step in the base, part number 7, and drill the required holes following the plans.

Step 5
Cut and sand all other pieces according to the detailed drawings.

Step 6
Bend the connecting rod, part number 15, and front axle, part number 12, as shown.

Step 7
Glue the wings, parts number 2, to the body, part number 1.

Step 8
Glue the filler, part number 4, to the bill, part number 3.

Step 9
Temporarily add the pin, part number 5; also check that every thing moves smoothly and easily.

Step 10
Glue and screw the body, part number 1, to the base, part
number 7, using the two screws, parts number 8.

Step 11
Glue the axle supports, parts number 9 and 10. Be sure to attach
the connecting rod, part number 15, to the front axle, part number 12. Add the rod and front axle at the same time as the two front axle supports, parts number 10.

Step 12
Screw the bumper, part number 16, with the screws, parts number 17, to the base, part number 7.

Step 13
Connect the eye screw, part number 14, to the pelican's bill, part number 4, as shown, and attach the connecting rod, part number 15, to it. Check that everything moves correctly as the front axle turns.

Step 14
Remove the pin, part number 5, and paint all pieces to suit. Make the pelican bright.

Step 15
Add the eyes, parts number 6, and front eye screw, part number 18.

Step 16
Reattach the bill assembly with the pin, part number 5.

Step 17
Epoxy the wheels to the axles so that they will not come loose, but will still turn with the axles. Check that the bill moves as the front wheel turns.

Step 18
Add a pull string and your pelican is ready for a walk around the house.
